Scholarship Program Recipients Honored at ISM Conference

The largest nationally recognized scholarship program in the field of supply chain management — the R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program — awarded 2012 scholarships this week.

Ten students, representing nine leading universities, were recognized at an awards dinner held during Institute for Supply Management™’s (ISM) 97th Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit in Baltimore. The 2012 Richter Scholars are:

Scholarships are awarded through ISM’s R. Gene Richter Scholarship Fund and through the R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation. The 2012 Richter Scholars receive tuition assistance of up to $5,000 and the benefits of an executive mentor, which pairs the student with an established executive, and a junior mentor, which pairs the student with a former Richter scholar.

The R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program was established and named in memory of R. Gene Richter, who was a galvanizing force in the field of procurement. Richter is admired for elevating the profession to world-class stature. He led the supply organizations at The Black & Decker Corporation, Hewlett-Packard and International Business Machines (IBM).
