DHL Supply Chain, the global and North American contract logistics provider within Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL), announced the appointment of Stephan Schablinski to the position of vice president, operations excellence – GoGreen. Schablinski will be responsible for developing and leading the North American GoGreen strategic agenda, including serving as a leading member of the North American ESG steering committee.
A commitment to sustainability is an integral part of DPDHL’s corporate culture. Since 2008, the Group has had ambitious sustainability targets, including carbon dioxide reduction. In 2017, the Group became the first logistics company in the world to set a target of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. To this end, the company offers numerous innovative solutions to make supply chains more sustainable, helping its customers achieve their environmental goals. With Strategy 2025 introduced in 2019, sustainability has become a fundamental component of the corporate strategy.
Schablinski, who joined DPDHL in 2001, has helped drive the organization’s GoGreen agenda since its inception in 2008. With a global background including work in Europe and Asia Pacific, he brings extensive experience working on sustainability initiatives for the brand.
“In this era of eco-consciousness, sustainability is central to our business, our customers, and our stakeholders and I have never seen so much opportunity and ambition for positive change,” said Schablinski. “I am very excited about the potential that lies ahead as we continue to be an industry leader in offering green solutions – a vital element in protecting our planet.”
Schablinski’s most recent role was vice president, Global GoGreen, DHL Supply Chain, where he was responsible for translating DPDHL’s sustainability roadmap into a strategic plan with concrete actions for the division. He possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be extremely valuable in the efforts to meet the organization’s new GoGreen carbon emission reduction targets.
