Supply chain management firm ALOM will be honored with two Gold Stevie® Awards for exemplary achievement and business management excellence at the19th Annual American Business Awards® virtual ceremony today. ALOM was recognized among all American businesses for rapid onboarding and 100% on-time fulfillment of essential COVID-19 test kit assembly and distribution programs, all while keeping its employees protected and safe.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“We are enormously proud of our work to help save lives and protect our staff and communities during the pandemic,” said ALOM President and CEO Hannah Kain. “ALOM staff and business intelligence systems performed perfectly to scale capacity and manage inventory for orders reaching one million per week. Our management team worked tirelessly to implement a new strategic plan and at the same time comply with all workplace safety mandates. In the end, not only were we able to rapidly configure our lines and data visibility systems to support COVID relief programs, but we were able to do so while protecting the safety of our employees. Today, we are working hard to ensure a safer and promising future during this time of economic recovery.”

ALOM received the Gold Stevie® Award for Business Management in recognition of its risk reduction, strategic planning and operational resilience during a period of unprecedented supply chain disruption and uncertainty. In winning the Most Exemplary Employer, ALOM was recognized for its extensive workforce protection and support measures that enabled continuous operations and mitigated workplace-contracted COVID-19 staff infection risk.

ALOM did not lay off or furlough any staff during the pandemic. Instead, the firm leveraged its data-driven business intelligence system, and both its ISO 13485 certified medical manufacturing expertise and FDA registered facilities, to quickly reconfigure production line layout and add capacity to rapidly scale to meet growing order demand. It launched new programs to assemble and distribute desperately needed COVID-19 testing kits, medical-grade air filtration equipment and PPE.

Beyond medical components, ALOM’s technology tools provided vital visibility for clients grappling with sourcing and production challenges. In both its Fremont, CA, global headquarters and its Indianapolis facility, ALOM was able to mitigate supply disruption by sourcing materials within country borders, move production to alternate locations when international borders closed and react nimbly to shifts in consumer demand.

ALOM senior management team members recognized include Hannah Kain, CEO; Jack Sexton, CFO; Brandon Marugg, CTO; Fiona Lowbridge, VP Client Success; Subu Subramanian, VP Operations, and Lisa Dolan, VP Supply Chain Strategy.

“The American economy continues to show its resilience, and as we’re poised on the beginning of what should be a phenomenal period of growth, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of a wide range of organizations and people over the past 18 months,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher. “This year’s Stevie-winning nominations in The American Business Awards are testament to the ingenuity, the commitment, the passion, the adaptability, and the creativity of the American people. We look forward to celebrating this year’s winners during our virtual ceremony on June 30.”
