Sustainability strategies for leading ocean cargo shippers include targets to dramatically reduce carbon dioxide emissions from their global logistics networks and increasingly, prioritize working with like-minded supply chain partners.
Supply Chain Management Review recognizes the achievement of BSR – a global consultancy with hundreds of international shippers in its network – in advancing this mission. Its “Clean Cargo Working Group” is international business-to-business initiative made up of leading cargo carriers and their customers, dedicated to environmental performance improvement in marine container transport through measurement, evaluation, and reporting.
Registration is now open for the BSR Conference 2013, “The Power of Networks,” which will take place November 5 through 8 at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in San Francisco.
“We live in a networked world, in which connections among businesses, across industries and sectors, and throughout social networks are more powerful than ever,” said BSR President and CEO Aron Cramer.
“The most effective sustainability solutions emerge when we activate these networks for systemic change.”
This year, the BSR Conference will celebrate and explore the “Power of Networks,” bringing together more than 1,000 leaders in business and sustainability from around the world to share examples and ideas about how to harness the power of networks for progress. With provocative speakers and a mix of debates, workshops, and breakout sessions, the Conference will provide time for attendees to reflect on the networks they belong to and identify new networks for change.
“Every participant and speaker will come away from the BSR Conference with a better understanding of how to maximize his or her networks to create a sustainable future,” said Cramer.
For more than 20 years, the BSR Conference has provided the preeminent global platform for sharing best practices, collaborative approaches, and opportunities to advance sustainable business.
