Artificial intelligence (AI) has made a dramatic entrance into the procurement arena. As we’ve been reporting in Supply Chain Management Review (SCMR) and across all our supply chain titles, AI is no longer a science experiment. By all counts, it’s ushering in a seismic shift, and many analysts contend that it’s about to re-define procurement from the ground up.

In fact, SCMR has just shared some findings from a recent McKinsey & Company report stating that AI is helping to supercharge digital procurement transaction speeds by up to 40%. In the meantime, a recent Gartner study reveals that around 65% of procurement leaders are betting BIG on AI to sharpen their efficiency and decision-making prowess.

Michael Levans, and Group Editorial Director for Peerless Media’s Supply Chain Group, is joined Kristian O’Meara, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Jaggaer in a conversation that puts context around all the excitement surrounding AI and its current and potential impact on procurement operations.
