Project Based Procurement Introduced by JAGGAER at ISM Event

In an announcement coinciding with the ISM conference in Nashville, TN, JAGGAER introduced a solution to manage large Capex projects: Project Based Procurement (PBP).

According to the company, this was a direct response to requests made by supply chain managers.

The solution is already in use at two JAGGAER customer companies, both of which have utilized it to change fundamental business practices in terms of managing complex projects.

Cathy Morrow Roberson, president of the consultancy, Logistics Trends & Insights, told SCMR that because procurement often has to work with different departments of a company as well as different vendors charged with automating the process(es), it is vital to track individual projects, change requests, quotes, agreements, and costs…particularly with large CAPEX projects.

“As more companies digitize, procurement will be a focus to aid in collaboration, tracking and management of costs in an efficient manner,” she adds.

According to JAGGAER PBP represents “a natural evolution” in the spend management space, thereby creating a path to digital conversion for many companies still managing large projects with paper and excel spreadsheets.

Rob Bonavito, CEO of JAGGAER, said in a statement that PBP was created with input from several clients and a thorough analysis of market needs.

“It brings true project visibility which enables real time budget control,” he said.
