One of the most popular sections of Supply Chain Management Review is our “Profiles in Leadership.” Written by Special Projects Editor John Kerr, the section spotlights individuals who have compiled a proven record of success and leadership in the supply chain community.
We’ve featured people from just about every walk of supply chain life. Our first leader was Lee Scott, who worked his way up from the loading dock at Walmart to become the company’s CEO. Since then, we’ve featured luminaries from academia—legends like John Coyle of Penn Sate and Stanford’s Hau Lee. We’ve had representatives from the military such as John Handy, the Air Force general who headed up the military’s transportation command. And leaders like Rick Blasgen, the long-time head of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).
Then, of course, there are the supply chain practitioners, who have comprised the lion’s share of our profilees. Over the years, we’ve spotlighted supply chain executives from the world’s leading companies—IBM, Procter & Gamble, Cisco, Home Depot, Honda and Michelin to name a few.
We’re always on the lookout for candidates for “Profiles in Leadership.” The criteria for consideration are fairly straightforward: (1) a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire other supply chains professionals and (2) a commitment to give back as reflected in their educational, community, or charitable activities.
Do you know of someone who we might feature in our “Profiles in Leadership” section? If so, please drop me a line telling who and a few words why.
