2020 USC Marshall Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit Convenes This October

When the 2020 USC Marshall Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit convenes this October, humanitarian supply chains and the challenges of current epidemics is certain to be addressed.

Kathleen Hegyesi, Program Manager at Flexport.org has been invited to elaborate on building relationships with Customs during a crisis when she joins the sustainability panel at this year's USC Global Supply Chain Summit in the fall.

In a recent interview with SCMR, she observed that Air freight is under great stress from the loss of passenger flights.

“But carriers are starting to respond with aircraft repurposed for full cargo flights,” she said. “Supply chain managers, meanwhile, are reacting to high prices and congestion by splitting shipments and opting for less congested inland or regional airports.”
Meanwhile, USC Summit organizers continue to get the word out on its changed date.

“In the past two months, we have been closely monitoring the pandemic situation of COVID-19 and how it impacts events that require large gatherings,” says Nick Vyas is the executive director and co-founder of the University of Southern California's Marshall Center for Global Supply Chain Management and assistant professor of clinical data sciences and operations

“Health and safety of our speakers, attendees and team members are the priorities in all of our business decisions. With careful consideration and survey data, we have decided it is best to move our Summit to new dates of October 13th and 14th with VIP reception held on October 12th,” concluded Vyas.
