Another example of ongoing collaborative supply chain integration surfaced today as GT Nexus and Kinaxis announced a strategic partnership to deliver a cloud-based unified planning and execution platform.
Spokesmen added that this partnership is designed for enterprise customers and business process outsourcing (BPO) service providers. ?
Aaron Sasson, CEO of GT Nexus, noted that the “new world of business networks” demands tightly integrated supply chain planning and execution.
He said that? while companies have invested heavily in enterprise software and B2B messaging “middleware” solutions to help them optimize inventory and fulfillment strategies, the vision of a fully integrated and responsive supply chain network has remained unfulfilled. ? ?
“This is because of the enormous information barrier that companies face when trying to make smart planning decisions in the context of highly dynamic and complex global supply chain structures,” he added.
As reported in Logistics Management—SCMR’s sister publication—GT Nexus and Capgemini inked a joint go-to market BPO initiative late last fall to enable what it described as “Supply Chain Orchestration.”
Meanwhile, GT Nexus announced that its annual user conference, Bridges, will take place in Half Moon Bay, California, on June 3-5, 2012. This annual gathering of large enterprises and supply chain partners is the largest event of its kind, attended by companies with collective revenues in excess of $1 trillion.
