The supply chain design and optimization methodologies most companies use were developed in the 1990's. The focus was on the configuration of the network and the location of facilities. The goal was to minimize the costs of warehousing and transportation. And a new design was expected to last for a few years.
That approach no longer works in a landscape marked by uncertainty, new business models and shifting customer expectations, and where the supply chain is a major competitive differentiator.
It's time to modernize supply chain design.
In this webinar we’ll explore new approaches and models for supply chain design, as well as the tools that enable them.
You’ll learn:
- How global trends and market development impact the way we envision supply chain design and why the traditional approaches are outdated
- Which are the most promising advances in data analytics, machine learning, optimization, simulation and network science that can support the new science of supply chain design
- How to leverage these new approaches in order to design flexible and adaptive supply chains, source of value creation and competitive advantage for companies
