Risk management: Say goodbye to disruption

Disruption. Anyone in the supply chain has learned all about that word over the past several years. Whether it was COVID-19-induced shutdowns, a ship getting stuck in the Panama Canal, labor strife, or extreme weather events, chief supply chain officers have learned to integrate the word into their daily lexicon.

But, while disruption is here to stay (was it ever not here?), that doesn’t mean CSCOs need to be stuck in reactionary mode. In fact, with some foresight, they may be able to navigate around disruption and keep their supply chains smoothly moving forward. It all comes down to risk mitigation.
