First lead, now Cadmium?

January 12, 2010

Just when you thought your children were safe from products from China, this investigation from the Associated Press emerged today.

At issue is cadmium, a toxic metal that is usually harmless in its everyday form, but capable of causing a whole host of problems, including cancer, in concentration.

The problem? Well, it’s now appearing in children’s jewelry, enough that Wal-Mart has decided to yank the products off their shelves.

It wasn’t too long ago that we were pulling kids’ toys off the shelves over lead. Look, I know we’re all trying to save a buck these days, but are we really so careless that we don’t care if we give our kids cancer anymore? Time to examine your supply chain, if you haven’t already, and make sure you aren’t shipping toxic materials into the hands of your customers.

Thanks for the information. China should be banned from exporting products maybe then their losses will hopefully bring them to their senses!
