Watch Out -- Here Comes India!

October 9, 2007

For some, this is not necessarily big breaking news, but it seems articles like this one are popping up more and more, seemingly cementing India as the clear winner in the "what’s next?" race. China is, of course, merrily humming along as the current hotbed for anyone looking for cheap labor and millions of new customers, but as we all know, booms like this are cyclical, and while no one can predict exactly when China will cool off, well, we all know it’s going to happen.

So what’s next? Where will corporations be clamoring to send cranes, cargo ships, and funding to build infrastructure? Based on what we’re hearing from people in the field, it looks more and more like it’s going to be India, with Vietnam and other southeast Asian countries coming in at a close second, and so far it seems many South American countries are a distant third. Where is your company going, if not China?
