In an effort to address the increasing complexity of global supply chains, Emptoris, Inc. (“Emptoris”) today unveiled “The Strategic Supply Management Platform for the Future.

According to spokesmen, Emptoris’ Suite V9 represents the “next evolution” of the company’s supply and contract management software for Global 2000 organizations.

It promises to provide its clients with software designed to maximize operational and financial performance and actively mitigate risks.

“Faced with an ongoing tumultuous economy and ever-increasing globalization, companies are now navigating more complexity, risk and price volatility in their supply chains,” said Terrence Curley, SVP, product strategy, product management and development.

In an interview with SCMR, Curley noted that as this environment has become the new “normal” for the foreseeable future, ensuring complete visibility into organization-wide strategic supply management activities is more important than ever.

“To remain competitive, companies must simultaneously focus on their core business and driving its latest innovations while proactively reducing supply costs and risks, forging strong supplier relationships and maintaining compliance across the board,” Curley added.

The announcement was timed to coincide with Emptoris Empower 2011, a conference hosted in Boston this week.

Company spokesmen are providing an overview of the new product noting that it provides the following:

*enhanced user experience including mobile-specific functionality for sourcing, contracts and services procurement - “work the way you work”

*New enterprise intelligence reporting that provides executive enterprise-wide view of supplier data

*New technology platform which yields security and performance.

“With added program management capabilities, organizations benefit from enterprise control, governance and guidance,” said spokesmen.
