New Study to Spotlight Supply Chain Talent

A new survey of talent in the supply chain field reveals wide variations in supply chain definitions, and a need to develop a more common supply chain talent model.
The survey, conducted by AMR Research and the Global Supply Chain Professional Development Committee,
surveyed 198 corporations in North America across 15 different industries to identify what sorts of supply chain-related skills are most useful to employers right now.
Among other conclusions, the survey results show that universities will play a key role in defining common supply chain-related skill sets in the future. Some of the chief obstacles seem to be the wide variation in supply chain definitions from industry to industry, as well as a persistent belief among business leaders that supply chain management is "engineering centric," according to the report.
