IBM teams with Metro Group for retail RFID

IBM and Germany’s Metro Group, a European retail chain, will work on two RFID projects. In one project that claims to be Europe’s largest RFID effort, IBM and Metro will install a system to track shipments across Metro’s entire supply chain, from suppliers to warehouses and distribution centers. In a separate project, IBM has developed and installed a RFID system that allows employees to more easily locate items that customers are seeking.
